WashU Cares case managers often interact with other key stakeholders involved in a student’s support.
This includes:
| Providing guidance to those concerned about a student or who have had concerning interactions with a student | |
| Partnering with treatment providers to ensure continuity of care | |
| Engaging family members and other supports in the process; and | |
| Assisting students in communicating with faculty or other University officials about what they need |
Consultation
Consultation conversations are interactions that WashU Cares staff have with individuals wishing to discuss a student they are concerned about, seeking advice about how to support a student, or requesting guidance on making a referral.
Collaboration
Collaboration occurs when a case manager and another institutional stakeholder (e.g., counselor, academic advisor, residence life staff, conduct staff) have a shared concern and work together to share information and discuss their plans for jointly supporting a student. A signed release of information may be required.
Consultation and/or collaborative conversations can be scheduled by reaching out a student’s assigned case manager or by emailing caresteam@wustl.edu.
